February 2010 Update

Posted on 19.02.2010

Centrix had a very active December and January and this will continue throughout February 2010.

Wireline Winches

As discussed in our November report, one of our main clients, Surtech Systems is in the process of undertaking a major fleet update.

During December and January Centrix manufactured and fitted out four new vehicles leaving three vehicles still to be fitted.

Centrix worked with the team at Surtech to tailor the vehicle fitouts to address OH&S issues, optimise efficient operation and ensure operator comfort.

Two of the remaining vehicles to be fitted will be Dual Cab Trucks incorpating the Centrix 3,500 metre Hydraulic winches.

Centrix is also finalising the development of a 1,500m "Budget" electric wireline that we hope to start marketing over the next few months.

Steel Wall Frame Division

Centrix has been busy in the fabrication of roof panels for Donga Style accommodation since November. In January, Fleetwood contracted Centrix to produce roof panels for the Karara mine project that is expected to be a 6 - 8 contract.

Behind the scenes Centrix has been working with a structural engineer to finalise the specifications for the manufacture of riveted frames in cyclonic areas.

As a consequence, Centrix and our joint venture partner Goldfields Steel Framing are now able to offer a "design" and "engineering sign off" service in relation to our 90mm riveted wall frames for cyclonic regions.

On the same note, we are also pleased to announce that the joint venture between Centrix and Goldfields Steel Framing continues to strengthen. By way of illustration, Centrix was recently approached by a new client to commence manufacturing wall frames and trusses. Centrix at the time had a full schedule and could not take on the additional work and achieve the deadlines required. As the joint venture was keen to establish a new client relationship, rather than turn away the opportunity, we worked with Goldfields Steel Framing to ensure the frames and trusses were built on time for the new client.

Centix is also planning to undertake further Research and Development in the near future to continue to look at ways to improving the wall framing building process in order to remain competitive and to improve on delivery times.

Electro Winning Equipment

Centrix is currently looking at a few opportunities to further expand into this market. Two of our staff members recently travelled interstate to have discussions with key industry members and we look forward to some exciting developments over the coming months.
